Every year, hundreds of people walk through our doors in need of services. Due to restrictions from our funding sources, we are not always able to directly help individuals younger than 60.
To solve this problem, we are part of an Aging and Disability Resource Consortium (ADRC). Aging and Disability Resource Consortiums are partnerships between Aging Services Access Points (like Coastline) and Independent Living Centers (ILCs); they function to ensure that all people in need have access to programs and resources.
Because ASAPs and ILCs exist all across the Commonwealth, so do ADRCs. In this region Coastline Elderly Services, Inc., Bristol Elder Services, Inc., and Old Colony Elder Services, Inc. together partner with Southeast Center for Independent Living (SCIL). Located in Fall River, SCIL is the local ILC and provides services to individuals with disabilities, regardless of their age.
ADRCs allow individual agencies to work together to ensure everyone in their community - regardless of age, gender, disability, or income - can access programs and resources to ensure the best quality of life possible.
To make sure we are serving everyone to the best of our abilities, we hold cross-trainings four times a year, and we meet monthly to evaluate and analyze our programs.
You can contact any ADRC member to get more information about community based care options.
