MEALS ON WHEELS
Meals On Wheels are provided on a short or long term basis to homebound elders 60 years or older who are unable to prepare a nutritionally balanced noon meal for themselves and are unable to attend congregate hot lunches.
Well-Being Check
Meals On Wheels are more than a hot lunch. The volunteers who deliver the meals ensure daily contact and a “well-being” check for elders who are alone during the day.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Referrals for services may come from elders or other community agencies as social services, hospital, doctors, or family
- Elders are asked to call and give 24-hour notice for the start of the home meal delivery and for resuming or ending the service (508) 999-6400. There are no financial eligibility requirements. A minimal voluntary donation is requested.
